ROMANCOKE FISHING PIER

Romancoke Fishing Pier

Scope of work: Remove a ferry dock destroyed in Hurricane Isabel, then replace it with a public fishing pier.

The 500-foot long pier is 12-foot wide with a 200-foot by 10-foot "T" at the end. Supported by 300 timber piles 20 to 35-foot long, the pier is constructed of 3-inch framing and 2-inch decking. A full length timber hand rail, benches and pedestrian lighting completed the pier design. The project also included 265 LF of timber bulkhead, an asphalt parking lot, and a canoe launch.
