Scope of work: Construction of a series of three timber vehicular bridges with walkways and a 150 slip marina with a breakwater.
The bridges, which are part of the main entrance road, traverse federally protected wetlands that meander through the site. Designed and constructed of timber to better provide "that Chesapeake feel" desired by the owner, the bridges measure approximately 30' wide by 280' long and include a pedestrian walkway. The structures are supported by 12" diameter x 60' long timber pilings, and are rated for commercial use.
The marina was constructed within a floating concrete breakwater that substantially reduces wave activity inside the basin. The marina features:
- 250' of 14' wide timber pier
- 1,900' of 10' wide pier
- 540' of 6' wide pier
- 1,500' of 4' wide pier
- over 200 mooring piles
